Who is Joe Root – Know About Me
My name is Joe Root, and I am a professional skateboarder. I’ve loved skateboarding ever since I got my first skateboard as a birthday gift on my 5th birthday. Nobody in my family knew how impactful that gift would be to my life as I was just a little kid. But today, everyone knows that it was that skateboard that led me to where I am today.
I would credit my dad for being a good skateboarder and passing his interest and skill for the sport down to me. I’d always see him trying out different tricks on the weekends with his old skateboard and remembering the time when he would go around the streets on his beloved board. The idea of freedom and youth associated with that skateboard inspired me to learn more about this sport.
Living in a state like California, fortunately, I came across many opportunities to help polish my skill, and I was only ten years old when the Volcom team took me in as part of the team. Since then, I have been keen on participating in all kinds of contests, whether they were local or around the country.
One of my very first achievements was back in 2015 in the Huntington Beach Shop Battle Finals. At the age of only 11 years, I scored first in the tournament. This event gave me the confidence I needed to pursue this sport further professionally in my life.
Through the years, I have not only participated in tournaments throughout the country but also abroad. Going to places like Spain and Sweden and participating in various tournaments have been my biggest joys. Scoring 8th position in the world championship at shanghai is one of my most significant achievements to date.
Currently, I’m completing my studies; however, my love for skateboarding allows me to make time for it. Using my website, I help other youngsters like me learn more about different models of skateboards, which models are trending, and which ones are best suited for them. I like connecting with people having similar interests as me, and helping them out doesn’t only work in their favor but also helps me learn and discover new things for myself.
Apart from skateboarding, I also enjoy playing basketball with my friends. Since I usually skateboard alone, a basketball game with my friends over the weekend is a good chance of scenario to help me feel energized and feel that connection with my friends, family, and other people around me.
If you have any queries about skateboarding like how you can also become a pro at the game, you can drop me a message, and I’ll try to help you as much as I can.
